This new $10.6M office building houses 100 CAS of Oxford County staff whom provide services to families related to children's care.  The 48,000 sq ft building is designed as a high performance building with a target minimum 25% energy cost savings from a typical building its type designed to minimum code standards.  A three storey atrium positioned on the entry west wall allows sunlight to penetrate the building core office spaces as well as providing daylight through roof skylights. Sustainable Design features include: Thirty
five percent greater energy performance efficiency is  expected by way of double wall building envelope with higher than standard insulation values; solar sun shading at perimeter walls and south and west internal sunlight diffusion shelves are designed to divert outside light into the building core; an energy efficient hot water boiler radiator system provides seasonal heat while an energy efficient roof mounted chiller system provides cool conditioned air; an electrical daylight harvesting  system will provide a minimum 35% light energy savings due to lamp lumen self adjustment due to daylight exposure; environmentally friendly building materials maximize recycle content;  and locally sourced building products are selected
to reduce embodied energy in transportation.
